Already the Western Force are behind the 8-ball in the 2012 season.

Season 2011 was a disappointing 12th place finish. 2010 13th. 2009 8th. You get the picture. In their first six seasons in the competition, the best they finished was 7th in 2007.

This season seems to have started off much the same for a team that touts the potential but never seems to reach it. They’ve gone down to the Brumbies, the Reds, the Hurricanes and the Rebels, only just pipping the Waratahs for their only win of the season to date.

Tomorrow afternoon their back up against the reigning champions in the Reds at NiB Stadium for the beginning of a month-long run of home games, and its hard to see where the Force can pull the win from.

Wallaby Ben McCalman is set to return for the home team to join his other Wallaby team mates in David Pocock, Nathan Sharpe and Richard Brown, but despite the inclusions of McCalman, Toby Lynn and Pek Cowan, I cant see the team bothering the reds too much.

However its hard to know just which Force team will run onto the park this afternoon, and with the home ground advantage, an upset victory could be on the cards if the Force play with the hunger they should.

My prediction: Reds by 10.
