Perth Glory fans must be starting to feel excited. Right now, their team has done better then it has in any other year since the A-League began, and hopes are high it can continue.
And lets face it, Shane Smeltz has been the knight in shining armour for the glory in their last two games, unbelievably scoring every goal for Perth to bring his total to 7 from 2 games and what’s exciting is that his form doesn’t look like disappearing anytime soon.
Fast forward to tomorrow and Perth take on Wellington Phoenix in the A-League’s minor semi-final match at NiB Stadium. There are four teams left in the competition, the four best teams, and Glory could have the upperhand to make it into the final two.
The last time these two teams faced off in January, Glory came away 1-0 winners, and have to be excited they are playing at home again. The home advantage is a giant one, especially in the finals. Adding to their belief is the knowledge that the Wellington Phoenix have only ever one twice in 7 attempts out here in the west.
Glory have played 16 times in 2012 and lost only 3 games, and if Smeltz and co can keep the pressure and run going in this game, we could see the Glory move one step closer to the Grand Final.
My prediction: Glory 1-0
