The Western Force seem to have returned to their old losing ways.
I got a bit excited a couple of weeks ago with their thrashing of the Reds, and thought to myself that that game could well mark the arrival of the Force as a genuine contender. Unfortunately it seems I got a bit ahead of myself.
Last night was another home game for the force, but yet another lose, albeit a small one. Playing against the Waratahs, I guess one of the positives they can take out of the game was that they only lost by five points, going down 23-18, but a loss is still a loss and definitely does not help their cause of getting some respect within Rugby circles.
The second half showed how the Force should be playing the whole game, but unfortunately they cant seem to string it together. Despite looking down and out, trailing 17-3, they picked themselves up and gave the visitors a mighty scare, almost miraculously coming away with the win.
The Force now sit last in the Australian Conference and need to do a hell of a lot better to drag themselves off the bottom. Hopefully next week’s bye will give them a chance to recalibrate and get back on the winners list.
