Today is the day for Glory fans, the real test of just how good their current form has been.

The Perth Glory take on the Central Coast Mariners in the A-League’s Grand Final qualifier this afternoon. The Glory are running red hot after notching six wins in their last eight matches, two of those in crucial finals matches against Wellington Phoenix and the Melbourne Heart. The Mariners on the other hand, received a belting from the Brisbane Roar in their last two matches, despite finishing the season on top of the ladder.

The two teams couldnt be travelling any differently at the moment, with the Glory going into the game with all the momentum and the Mariners clinging to this as their last chance to make the grand final. The one thing working in the home team’s favour is their record against the Glory. The two teams have met 21 times in the A-League’s history, but the Glory have only won three times.

This however, is a completely different ball game, and the confidence that the Glory have at the moment, as well as their recent good form, will be big contributors as to how this game unfolds. I think it will be tigher then most think, and might even go into penalties.

My prediction: Perth Glory in penalties
